The Media Push Biography

Leveraging your local exposure is our vision

Charlotte Risch

I owe much of my success to a strong background in Television as a promotion producer and Emmy-nominated writer and understanding what the media wants in a story. My TV career began at WUPW, then WZZM and ultimately, KNXV ABC 15. At KNXV, I was integral in the branding of the “We Won’t Waste Your Time” campaigns and news format branding of “more news, more information” and the scrolling of news at the bottom of the screen, (which is now seen on almost all news stations.)

After leaving TV, I worked with the Maricopa County Department of Transportation in Community Relations, assisting with promotions and news for employees and the public. I’ve seasonally worked with the Fiesta Bowl as a Media Relations liaison for the Bowl games and Tempe Block Party. I also spent a year and half at an advertising agency for Subway Restaurants and gathered a wealth of knowledge about the agency/franchise worlds.

With these diverse experiences in promotion, writing, producing, the media, customer service, and community relations, I have successfully owned The Media Push, LLC since August 2005. My sharp writing skills, keen promotional capabilities, connections in the Phoenix media and strong, Midwest work ethic bring Arizona small businesses exposure and credibility through smart, personalized PR campaigns. The majority of my clients are gained through referrals from other clients and most have been with me for more than a year. Every client knows I give personal attention and am the one working on their business. That close understanding of who they are and what they do makes it easier to pitch the local media some large firms can’t offer. Another unique aspect to my business is my monthly client gatherings where I empower my clients to learn more about advertising and marketing their business through special guest speakers. These meetings bring new networking opportunities to them, too. Everyone shares their PR experiences, as most of these small business owners have never done public relations before and have many of the same concerns and issues. How many PR firms do you know that encourage their clients to bond and build business with each other like that?

I love sports and my community! (Season Ticket Holder - AZ Cardinals and partial for the Phoenix Coyotes). I’ve volunteered for the Media Relations Committee of the Fiesta Bowl since 1999. I am an integral part of the Bowl games helping as a Pressbox Captain, at media events and registration. I am also very honored to be a mentor for a scholar of the Pat Tillman Foundation’s Leadership through Action program at Arizona State, where I offer my experience and advice to an outstanding scholar.

Professionally, I contribute to the Valley PR Blog, which is in the top 50 PR Blogs in the country. Through this social media platform I offer my insights, guidance and commentary on local and national PR news and practices. As a member of PRSA, I volunteer on the PR and Communications Committee for the local Phoenix Chapter.

Various local non-profit groups have benefitted from my PR services and contacts in the Valley, including:
